Veraction, a multi-national transportation spent-management solution provider, uses EDI invoices and shipment notices to analyze the transportation outlay of some of the world’s largest global retailers and eCommerce vendors. With 3800 B2B trading partners and 1,200,000 EDI and non-EDI documents constituting 15 million shipments arriving monthly, Veraction is dependent on B2B integration for providing solutions to optimize spend management for conveying goods around the globe.
Veraction, however, faced many challenges in this area, such as addressing a growing customer market, supporting complex integration scenarios and providing end-to-end transparency of the B2B process for both Veraction staff and its customers.
It was clear that modernizing its B2B and EDI platform was a must. Informatica offered the solution: a modern unified B2B integration platform to handle complex integration scenarios in a hub-like approach.
Although the advantages of switching to Informatica were obvious, one major challenge remained: how best to migrate over 30 years of highly generic and complex maps from the old system to the new?
Migrating manually was out-of-the-question. “We knew we needed an automated solution to complete such a gigantic task,” says Ravi Akella, Veraction’s CTO, “so we looked for a provider who could not only automate the migration, but was both Informatica and EDI specialists, which was A.B. Link.” In addition, A.B. Link’s proposal of a fixed cost per map enabled Veraction to be cost-conscious while estimating its expenditures accurately.
By using A.B. Link’s ‘Migrator’ service, Veraction has been able to automate migration of 70 highly complex maps, serving 3800 carriers/clients combinations, from the old legacy EDI tool to an Informatica integration platform.
